Chateau Talbot的得名歸功於英國的將軍Talbot,他是15世紀中西耶 納省的 統治者,後來他在1453年一場決定性的戰役中犧牲。Chateau Talbot獲得人們的好評是在19世紀1918年被著名的Cordier家族收購.Chateau Talbot也是Medoc區第一個生產白葡萄酒的酒莊,命名為Le Caillou Blanc。現在Chateau Talbot有著非常高的品質,其評價經常超過了當初1855年所評定的四級名莊水準。事實上,在Chateau Talbot旁邊的Chateau Gruaud-Larose(二級酒莊)也被Cordier家族收購了

The 2015 Talbot shows much better now than just a year ago. Here it has a much more intense bouquet than Gruaud Larose and Lagrange. Upfront blackberry and bilberry scents, cedar and subtle mint aromas lend complexity with time in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with grippy tannin on the entry, a fine bead of acidity with layers of graphite-infused black fruit. I love the precision on the finish here and the persistence is superb. Impressive. Tasted blind at the Southwold 2015 Bordeaux tasting.

The 2016 Caillou Blanc from Château Talbot is a blend of 75% Sauvignon Blanc and 25% Sémillon matured in 50% new oak. It has a well defined bouquet with freshly squeezed lime, tangerine and orange cordial – simple but effective. The palate is well balanced with a smooth, quite creamy, quite leery entry (this is never racked) with a fresh, lightly spiced finish. Fine, although I would afford it another year in bottle to soak up the residual new oak. Tasted at the château.
